Music for the holidays

In case you haven't noticed, the holidays are upon us. Every year I enjoy listening to SomaFM's yearly broadcast of "Xmas in Frisko". The music ranges from the quirky and raunchy to traditional holiday classics.

Writely.com

I've come across a few interesting things on the Internet lately. One of those is writely.com.

From the site:

What does Writely do?

Writely allows you to edit documents online with whomever you choose, and then publish and blog them online.

What exactly can I do with it?

You can:

  • Upload Word documents, HTML or text (or create documents from scratch).

  • Use our simple WSIWYG editor to format your documents, spell-check them, etc.

  • Invite others to share your documents (by e-mail address).

  • Edit documents online with whomever you choose.

  • View your documents' complete revision history and roll back to any version.

  • Publish documents online to the world, or to just who you choose.

  • Download documents to your desktop as Word, HTML or zip.

  • Post your documents to your blog.

How much does Writely cost?

During the beta period, Writely is free.

Seems like a promising project. Apparently there have been some updates to the service. You can now upload an OpenDocument file (OpenOffice.org format) to the site and also export newly created files from the site in OpenDocument format. You can also upload your file to a blog.
